Frances Lynch

Bachelor of Architecture (June 2014), Waterford Institute of Technology

I’m Fran Lynch from Dublin, Ireland. I am a graduate of Architecture in Waterford Institute of Technology. I have carried out internships in Copenhagen (NORD Architects, 2011) and Paris (RPBW, 2012-13), details of my work during these internships are available upon request. I was selected to work as an invigilator in the Irish Pavilion at The Venice Biennale 2014.

During the final year of my studies I conducted an investigation into how architects can contribute to the design of infrastructure, the edifices and landscapes necessary for society. Using coupling strategies I challenged Marc Augé's idea of infrastructure as 'non-place'... places people go, only to leave.

In my work I strive to meet innovative solutions to design problems, through experimentation in detailing and exploration of materials.

When not working I love art, music, travel and improving my language skills (Spanish) when I can.

Please don't hesitate to get in touch.
